Where to start ?

As I already mentioned that human rights issues are in wide spectrum ranging from individual, family, culture, national till international level. Though there are many approaches to understand the issues. I think it will be better to look in bottom-up approach starting from families. Yes! there are many human rights issues to be addressed in family level. If we fix them first, it will be really helpful to solve the issues in other wider scope.

In coming posts, we will take one of the major issues that are persisting in India and see what is the current scenario and see what are the remedies are taken to address the issue.

So what are the major issues in India which are related to Human Rights exploitation and that too exist in families. I see the below three major issues are to be addressed with better understanding of laws related to them.

• Domestic Violence
• Dowry Harassment
• Child Marriage

In India, It is very common that sometimes people do not aware that there are certain laws exist to help them OR In other side, people misuse it for their benefits.

Always we say there should be strong law to control certain violations exist in society. YES !!!! There must be strong law in place if the violations are happening.

But at the same, I have the below questions,

• Are we handing over this power of law to the people who really understand the purpose of it ? Yes there might be people in place. If there are, then how much percentage really knows the purpose the law ? It is still question mark for me ????
• What if people misuse the law which very strong in terms of law proceedings ?
